  1. Correction....SOME museums are amazing place OR museums COULD BE amazing places.

    I put it to your site that the Launceston Museum is anything BUT amazing. Instead it is a collection of near empty buildings cluttered with tired displays that rarely seem to change. We have to decide how long we're going to be there since parking is costly, and we've got little chance of a spot whenever York Park is hosting some sporting event.

    One cannot help but suspect that the Council, in its usual confused manner, is operating a mausoleum of some kind rather than an active contributor to the community at large.

    Tired staff, tired exhibits, tired buildings....isn't it time we injected some LIFE into the mix? Something dynamic and ebullient, something connected to the community and relevant to our lives?

    As it stands the mausol...sorry museum...is little more than a beacon of introspective bureaucracy.
